Bears win by 35, 77-42 though this game was never really close. We must have been a little gun shy because of the performance against Stanford because in the early going we passed up a TON of open 3pt attempts.

Pros:
1) Our starting 5 and first 2 off of the bench are as good as you will find
2) Our defense is stellar
3) We were up by nearly 50 so the backups were able to put in lots of minutes
4) Player is back healthy and we can go as far as she will take us
5) Jones was outstanding, probably the MVP tonight and she will be one of the best in the country as a SR
6) Palmer has the look of a leader though the skill set of a TR FR. Super slow release and a shot that comes from very low and has an odd hitch but she will be a player before she is done
7) Wilson looked improved
8) Allison is All Big 12, IMO
9) FT shooting was much improved

Cons:
1) The offense was less than good and we did not score for 2:30 to start the game, it did get better
2) We still dont finish very well around the basket
3) Very hesitant to shoot the open 3
4) Our backups, when played as a unit are what you would expect...not good. That doesnt mean they wont get better but as a unit they would lose to our starters by 50+. Thankfully, they wont play as a unit much.
5) We still dont appear to have a guard who is a true shooting guard

Other observations:
1) Wallace will pass Griffin in the offseason and replace Player as the starter at the 1 position next season, very small but quick, great vision and did I mention quick. She also shoots FTs well.
2) Not sure I have seen subs made in what amounted to a line change in hockey before but it was fun to see :)
3) Though I said our backups would lose to the starters by 50+ they could have beaten SFA in a close game
4) I think this is a sure Sweet 16 team and possibly an Elite 8 team. If the chips fall well (someone develops into a consistent outside shooting threat and we stay injury free) there is a chance to go further, especially because the traditional powers are WAY down this season
5) The crowd sucked, it was pretty large, maybe 5k, but it was a very subdued crowd

Overall I would grade this game, for the starting unit, a "B". There were about 6 minutes where a B+ or A- was warranted.

some have predicted BU to go to the Final Four this year. And that was before the win over Stanford.

Those people must be incredibly optimistic, not that there is anything wrong with that. I dont see a Final Four appearance at this juncture but it is a long season and I have been wrong before.

It is wayyyyyy too early in the season to predict a Final Four appearance. The Stanford game is only 1 "real" game. A lot of things have to happen to get that far in the tourney. You need to be real lucky as well. This team has lots of potential......that was evident by Kim's reaction at the end of the standford game when she hugged all the starters as the camne off the floor. When conference play begins, you will get a better feel for this team going day in and day out against top teams. How the freshmen adjust will be key.

As far as the slow start in the SFA game, should not be too much of a concearn. We have made a living coming up from behind. It is still early in the season.

This team still has a lot to prove but goodness they are solid. This will be a lot of fun to watch.

The offense wasnt good for much of the first half, like I said, they got better as the game progressed.
