Did they change the rule on pass interference in college football to make it the spot of the foul? I was semi watching the Michigan Utah game and Utah intercepted the ball on about the 10 yard line on a long pass, but they called pass interference (bs I might add) and Michigan got the ball at what looked like the spot.

Not that I know of... the main rule change this year is the 40 second play clock... i haven't heard anything about a spot of foul PI call. Oh yea, and no more incidental facemask call, every one of them is 15 yards.
I'm jealous you get to watch Michigan, I'm stuck watching USC

If you want to watch Michigan:
http://channelsurfing.net/watch-vp5-test.html (IE only, need Sopcast)
http://channelsurfing.net has a lot of games you don't see on TV from other regions

thanks, actually, ESPN2 picked up the Michigan game since LSU and App moved their game to the early morning.

i dont like that rule anyway. sure you should get some yards but its bs to just chunk it up there and then initiate some contact and have the backjudge bail you out and all of a sudden its 1st down on the 2 yd line

Don't remember it being this way last year, but the rulebook doesn't indicate it's a new rule.

Team A is offense, Team B is defense:
PENALTY—Pass interference by Team A: 15 yards from the previous spot [S33].
Pass interference by Team B: Team A’s ball at the spot of the foul, first down, if the foul occurs less than 15 yards beyond the previous spot. If the foul occurs 15 or more yards beyond the previous spot, Team A’s ball, first down, 15 yards from the previous spot [S33].
When the ball is snapped between the Team B 17-yard line and the Team B two-yard line and the spot of the foul is beyond the two-yard line, the penalty from the previous spot shall place the ball at the two-yard line, first down (A.R. 7-3-8-XVII).
No penalty enforced from outside the two-yard line may place the ball inside the two-yard line (Exception: Rule 10-2-2-g-2).
