I agree. But I'm trying to take the higher road.
There are differences between jokes at a tailgate and those at the office. Frankly, I wouldn't put up with that s*** from coworkers. I agree with BC. You may wish to talk with the HR person at your office. IMO what this person did was against the law and it should be stopped. You do not have to accept a less than professional office situation.
To tell you how serious this issue is, I've seen people fired for making similar comments.

oh that is most defenitely true. A tattoo on the lower back = easy. hidden like on the ankle, stomach, shoulder, etc doesn't always = easy
yep
and theres also a difference between a girl who has a tramp stamp and wears shirts that show it off and a girl with a tramp stamp who actually wears a real shirt. :)

if money weren't an issue, you know I'd get it fixed here. But if I can take a chance on it and get it fixed for significantly cheaper in CC, I think that's the route I'm going to take. Nothing is for sure yet, we'll see how it plays out.

I think it is different Biggy depending on who is doing the kidding, like we talked about at the house tonight.
the guy who said it, I thought was a good guy. He's supposedly a strong Christian, which when he said it, really hurt from that standpoint as well.
that's true... but i would assume that being co-workers there wouldn't be that buffer zone anymore.
it's basically one of two things (imo) these guys were genuinely just joking the way guys always do with one another.. OR they knew it would get under your skin and that's why they said it... so by getting upset, you're letting them win.
he knew it would get a reaction from me. But then he couldn't understand why it bothered me. After I explained it, he did apologize and said "I didn't mean any harm by it." Then he got all defensive saying "I want to joke with you, but I don't know what offends you and what doesn't." I replied with "Well you know one subject not to joke with me about." And walked off.

that, in my opinion isn't any way to resolve the conflict. If you want to pull him aside and talk to him in a civil manner, then you have to remain civil as well, you can't just walk away.
If it were me that you were talking to, the second you just turned your back and walked away is the second I would have stopped giving a damn what you thought. You walking away leaves things completely unresolved. Even though he was the one that was initially in the wrong, you should still give him a shot to say what he has to say.
Just my opinion anyway.

Agree with Biggy on this. Don't make it a confrontation. If he tried to apologize be the bigger person and go have a beer with him. If he won't have a beer, then he sucks.

Happy game day, all!
I have to admit, I like W's response. Not bad, sweetie.
Wants, I wouldn't file a formal complaint just yet. I would go in Monday and ask to speak to HR and give them a heads up in a completely non-formal way. (Trust me, they'll be all over it like water on a duck.) Then if it ever happens again, you can go in and file a formal complaint. If it doesn't happen again, then you solved your problem in a completely acceptable and low-key way. Don't walk off from the guy and don't get annoyed. Let him make his apology, and give him the chance to correct his behavior. If he doesn't, then you go from there.
He said he doesn't know what offends you and what doesn't. If others in the office feel like they're walking on eggshells around you--whether you realize it or not--that too is a big problem. And that's a problem on your end that you will have to take steps to correct. Comments about orientation should not be tolerated, but if you are seen as that guy who gets upset about little things, whether it's client-related or co-worker-related, that IS also a problem. Just a little FYI there.

Good morning, Wolverines.
Yeah, it has been a long time since I had been in this thread.
As usual, work has kept me busy especially with those 6 classes and with getting my course syllabi revised and sent to be made live to a program where my students can access them for their 2009 Spring Semester classes. TSTC will have its first classes starting January 12. Just meeting the deadlines. Several minor projects to be met before the deadlines. Preregistration starts next Monday, so all in all, just keeping myself busy.
I also had been battling allergies and cold off and on, but I am doing good.
My son has kept me busy, too as he is a typical teenager.
Next weekend, I will have my family come over to my house for early Thanksgiving since my sister and her husband, from what I understand, are in the U.S. now, to do their business with Shell. They just got here from the Netherlands. She will not be able to be here for the normal Thanksgiving holidays. Will have fun next weekend. I will make sure the TAMU-Baylor game will be on TV to watch.
Oh, I just got the latest GGR magazine this morning. Awesome!!!! The front cover is great.
Glad to read that y'all are doing fine these days.
Sic 'Em Bears!!!!!!!! Go beat Texas!!!
As for tonight, I am not sure if I should say Roll Tide or do this LSU cheer: Hot boudin, cold coush-coush, come on Tigahs, push, push, push.
Y'all have a blessed day.
Before going to bug out now, how about 'em Midway Panthers!! :D

Well, considering this booming metropolis has about 3 stations worth listening to, lowering that count by even 1 sucks. Yes, there are CDs, maybe it is just time to order sat rad for the truck too.

It gets old after about the first 5 songs and since they are the only "competitor" to the "awesome" 97.5 it also blows chunks.

Playing Christmas music for two months would IMPROVE 97.5.
My mom asked what I wanted for Christmas this year and I told her. She told me she wouldn't buy it. Not because it's too much or anything like that. Because it's not something that interests her. She thinks it is a silly gift. Last year I asked for a certain type of cleaning product--I wanted the whole line so I could get rid of all my old stuff and get non-toxic ones for when the baby got here--and she wouldn't buy that either. And she loves cleaning! Sheesh. I tried explaining that just because it didn't sound exciting to HER doesn't mean that it wasn't exciting to ME. Sigh. Parents.
I also told her I've decided Pooky needs Elmo Live. I played with it in HEB yesterday and Pooky thought it was a riot.

Chief's.....thanks for asking. I am doing better. This weekend, I went to GNC to buy some men's vitamins. It's a package of like 9 vitamins to take each day. So far I've noticed an improvement in my energy level.
I also went to the store and bought some flaxseed and other fruits and vegetables. The doctor said I needed to increase my fiber to help with the liver thing.

Nein, Pooky used to watch a little Sesame Street back when we were in our own house, now, not so much. She does catch some Wheel of Fortune and Dancing with the Stars sometimes. She has some other Sesame Street toys and only really knows Elmo through that.
Atx, I bought another PraiseBaby CD this weekend. And a PraiseBaby DVD. She did enjoy watching the other baby faces. I can't believe I actually bought a baby DVD, as it's against everything I stand for, but I did.
So I think I've figured out what's causing Pooky's eczema. I think she's sensitive to milk and it's coming out b/c she's been drinking about 2 formula bottles a day now that we're here. So I gave her a few days off from formula to test. Eczema is almost gone. So, I switch to a soy formula. Looks like she's one of the special babies who is sensitive to both milk and soy. Mommy may have to start pumping again, which will cut out the one hour of free time a day she manages to scrape together. Ugh.
BP, I only caught the last 15 minutes of Y&R today. I did get to see some lovely shots of Paris. Ah, Paris. Nick and Sharon are so going to get busted by Phyllis, but I don't care. I hate Phylls. I saw that Ashley found Victor, and seconds after telling her that he was bereft and could never love anyone again because of his grief for his dead wife...oops, he kissed Ashley, his ex-wife. Crazy times.
Maybe Pooky and I can go watch HIMYM in the other room. Monday nights are Dancing with the Stars nights on the big TV. Mimi says so.

I actually have a Sesame Street history book, believe it or not (and I'm pretty sure you probably do)
According to it, he first appeared as a little red monster in 1979, but became popular when his current muppeteer (Kevin Clash) became Elmo in 1984.

good evening everyone!
today an old high school crush found me on facebook. We have a lot of memories...some good, mostly bad...but it was nice to see her. She's married and has a family now. I'm glad she's happy, even if it's not with me.

No joke. You should get off the plane and get some just for flying there. They should be that appreciative of anyone going that far to that place. At least when you fly 5 hours South you get a beer, tequilla shot, or anything else you can think of jammed in your mouth before you get your luggage.

BP, Pooky got out the Elmo Driver toy yesterday. She loves it. You can tell her "Honk the Bert" and she will poke Bert's face and make it go "aaoogah!" LOVE IT.
Next on Mommy's Sesame Street agenda, with Daddy's approval after yesterday's trip to Wal-Mart...Elmo Live. Must talk the grandparents into it. I also found something called "Elmo's Restaurant." It's a restaurant with a cash register and a microphone to call out that the order is ready. I think I will have the store buy it and we'll file it under the "Employee Training" budget.

I went there last summer. My BIL's and I went fishing at Lake Mayfield in Washington, not too far from Portland.
The fish (lake trout) were biting like crazy. I actually caught fish with no bait or lure. Just a hook. I mentioned I could probably do it that day. He told me I was full of BS. I caught about 6 doing that.
"Oh crap, wait till I tell my friends here that my Texan BIL caught fish with only a hook." We took them out of the lake, and threw them on the fire. Awesome is not sufficient to describe how good they were.

Chief, I was up in Vacouver, WA this morning. The reality is that if you can live with the weather it is incredible up here, FAR superior to Seattle, IMO.
PDX was rated the best airport by Conde Naste 3 years in a row, they are having a HUGE party here today, cake, cupcakes, mimes, you name it. Very neat concept.
Fly to Waco tonight about 9:30, drive to DFW about 0400 tomorrow morning, very full day.
