I read them all in one long weekend - a week after I had my Lasik done  Not the smartest thing I ever did but oh well.

I'm happy to know that we can at least come together over Edward Cullen. :)

My girls are all over those books and the movie. One of my girls is going around biting people shouting "I'm a freakin' vampire!" Everyone is cracking up and laughing. She is our resident comedian.

Happy New Year to all of you. I hope it is a safe, happy and prosperous year for all.

good afternoon everyone. Go Ole Miss!

just in from a lunch at cfa (the fries and lemonade were wonderful), and checking out the REI, Sportsmans Warehouse and the outlet mall. SW has hardly any reloading supplies! :( I did pick up a couple of boxes of shotgun shells since I was invited to a free quail and pheasant hunt tomorrow. The only thing is that I'm going to have to miss a REI garage sale.

Great New Year Pooky pic!

Good news BP and Naynay.

Surprised my cousin yesterday, by showing up for the party last night. Had a huge family brunch this morning, followed by a nap. She gets married this evening here in Amarillo, but right now I'm just chilling and watching the Cotton Bowl game. Good game.

The second one is my least favorite of all (well, probably everyone's least favorite of all) - although the second one is how we got Team Edward vs Team Jacob. But the whole middle part of the second one blows without him (I think that's where you're at).

Did you see the movie yet?

If you get bored you can go on the author's website and read a partial version of Twilight that was written from Edward's perspective (instead of Bella's). Stories are the same but you get different things out of it - plus it's Edward :) It's not "finished" and she never published it but it got leaked a while back and she was irritated and so she posted the whole thing on her website. It's called Midnight Sun - PM me if you need a link.

Wave On Wave?Nah, try this one!!!

Might stand out in the wind
Out on Mustang Island
Might stay up all night
Hangin' out with Hank Williams and cryin'

I slept out on the sand so many nights that I can't remember
Yeah but love is love and life is hard
And one undoes the other

Summer gold, Winter blue
Where ever I am whatever I do
Wrapped in you

Might find me in Paris France, Someday soon
Might drive this Malibu all the way to China
Never can tell what I'll do.
I'm busted, shot clean through
Where ever I am whatever I do
Wrapped in you

Held you once through April
And in summer set you free
Now the cold, cold nights are coming
And I've lost everything

I've never been to Paris France
Never even seen Mustang Island
Ol' hank was gone before I was born
I'm not the kind to stay up cryin'
May never go far, but here's the truth
Where ever I am whatever I do
I'm busted, shot clean through
Whatever you want is what I'll do
I'm wrapped in you.

Wrapped in you
Wrapped in you

Limnos
01-03-2009, 09:04 PM
He was mocking the site's initial idea of going for quality over quantity and has been complaining about a lack of members. I agree with him that we need more members but complaining about it is not productive. He's right, but instead of complaining lets hear valid ideas to improve the site membership.

there have been 2 posts in the pro sports forum and 2 posts in the College Football forum. Not to mention only one thread with a meager 12 replies in the college basketball forum.

Let's see here, we're in the middle of the NFL Playoffs, BCS Bowl Games and a Baylor loss to South Carolina.

But it's ok, cause we all know what we're eating for dinner and what the gas prices are, the way sports forum should be.

According to the site we have 932 members... yet we only have 35 members with over 100 posts.

Maybe the people that run this site should think about how to keep it alive and get more members.

I can only assume you are referring to when Giga yelled at NayNay and told her nobody wanted her here.

Do you know that complete story? She had to register more than once as she was denied access the first time around and then I had to "vouch" for her, for her to get let on this site, because this site was adamant about keeping certain posters OFF this board.

Since she's been on here she's had several people be out right rude to her and has also been threatened to have a temporary ban placed on her account... all by people that are NOT Giga.

Limnos

Bigshot- you know that I agree about membership. I'm just saying that complaining doesn't improve it. If you have any ideas I am willing to hear them out for sure.

Nay is more than welcome here. I've stuck up for her several times and asked folks to be nice several others. The thing about asking her to leave was outright juvenile and not needed. I am not aware of having to "vouch" for her or a threat to ban her. Whereas there are certain individuals who will not be allowed on the site, the list is very short and most certainly justified by their actions and nay is not one of those people.

I talked to Giga Friday. He said he couldn't make lunch, but would see us later. The group was set for the last two weeks. No one was left out, just not everyone was invited. Being adults, I think we can do that if we want. I saw everyone I wanted to see while I was there, (except Bexar, and Babe &Solan). So, that's pretty much how it went down.

I'll now move on down the road and see some more. Eat some more, play some more golf, and drink some more beer. Yep, I'm set!!!

And next, what we have for dinner, drink,is on this forum. Sports is on another. Right hand click, and wow, there you are. Pretty simple

I can't rep you yet, Donnie. But thanks for this post. It was great to see you. Safe travels, friend!

I got my toes in the water, *** in the
sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today. Life is good today.

Well, the plane touched down just about 3 o'clock
And the city's still on my mind
Bikinis and palm trees danced in my head
I was still in the baggage line
Concrete and cars are there own prison bars like this life I'm living in
But the plane brought me farther.
I'm surrounded by water
And I'm not going back again

I got my toes in the water, *** in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today. Life is good today.

Adios and vaya con dios
Yeah I'm leaving GA
And if it weren't for tequila and pretty senoritas
I'd have no reason to stay
Adios and vaya con dios
Yeah I'm leaving GA
Gonna lay in the hot sun and roll a big fat one
And grab my guitar and play

Four days flew by like a drunk Friday night as the summer
drew to an end
They couldn't believe that I just couldn't leave
And I bid adieu to my friends
Because my bartender she's from the islands
Her body's been kissed by the sun
And coconut replaces the smell of the bar and I don't know if its her or the
rum

I got my toes in the water, *** in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today. Life is good today.

Adios and vaya con dios
A long way from the lake
Its where all the muchachas they call me "big poppa" when I throw pesos their
way
Adios and vaya con dios
A long way from GA
Someone do me a favor and pass me the Jaeger
And I'll grab my guitar and play

Adios and vaya con dios
Going home now to stay
The senoritas don't care-o when there's no dinero
You got no money to stay
Adios and vaya con dios
Going home now to stay

With my *** in a lawn chair
And toes in the clay
Not a worry in the world a PBR on the way
Life is good today. Life is good today

Personally, it's fine with me. At least I can know at the end of the day that I'm not a lying, two-faced panderer who says what certain people want them to hear. There was a *VOTE* taken where EVERYBODY voiced concerns about "a certain someone" being allowed on the site, but let's just all pretend it didn't happen, mmk?

Nice.
One of these days, I've got to learn the art of putting my balls in the holes. As of right now, I don't quite have it down yet.
Umm, you don't put your balls in the hole dude. You'd think after being married you'd have figured that out by now.
I liked the warm weather yesterday. I even sat out on the deck yesterday afternoon at sunset and was very comfortable in short sleeves. But I guess this weather is more appropriate for December and for preparing to go back to work tomorrow.
You mean January? ;)

there have been 2 posts in the pro sports forum and 2 posts in the College Football forum.

Got any suggestions?

well I guess now since we aren't blatantly ignoring each other, I can say what I need to say.

I don't have a problem with you. I remember at one point we had a disagreement about something and it all kinda went south from there. Honestly don't even remember what the spat was about. The only memory I have of you is hanging with you and atx in D.C. and everything was peachy then. I guess somewhere along the way I ****ed you off enough to get you to stay mad.

I get that not everyone is going to be friends, so if you don't like me...ok. You aren't the first and you won't be the last, I'm sure. But I mean, c'mon, if you were stranded on the side of the road and needed a ride, I wouldn't say **** him and pass you by. These sorts of things happen when you get a couple of strong personalities together I guess, or as Nein put it for me one time, "two hard-headed S.O.B.'s.

Apologies to the thread, didn't mean to hi-jack. Carry on.

They put the watch in the other guys lockbox, then before the last dose of the drugs the tortured guy told them he was working with that guy. The general left to go check the box, the girl rescued the tortured guy then he killed the torturer. While the general was gone, they told him he was being framed and that he best leave with them so he took off and whalla, back in the CIA. Tortured guy is now hooked on drugs back at home. Good episode, sorry I can't remember the names.

Wow. I'm glad I took the day to look at area rugs and missed all the drama. There was no vote taken. When asked about anyone, I have always said that as long as someone plays by the rules, they're welcome here. Naynay and I don't always agree, but overall, she's played by the rules. Ergo, she's welcome. To call any discussion that was held months and months ago as a matter of polling opinion for what folks wanted this site to look like/be about something as formal as a "vote" gives waaaay too much seriousness to casual conversations between many people about many things.

Yo, Cammo. Looking forward to seeing you on the Island again this summer. Tell the Mrs. and the pooch howdy.

I LOVE my Margarator.

My wife and I go to the coast every year and fish for our anniversary. We spend an entire week at Port A. One of our trips away from home my oldest daughters had a party. They are of drinking age, so I would rather them party at home and not drive, so no big deal. They usually have friends over to spend the night when they do it.

They made margaritas out of my Sauza gold tequila (the big one) and Grand Marnier. Drank every last drop of both full bottles. I was so mad at them. The turds didn't replace either bottle until I made them, then it was some cheap tequila that gave me a headache.

They now know that if they have a party they have to buy their own dang booze.

Donnie I thought about you this last weekend. I saw an episode of "Man vs Food" on the Travel Channel. The guy was in Amarillo eating a "Burger From Hell" at the Coyote Grill: 1/2# burger, topped with a full cup of fresh sliced jalepenos, habanero sauce and a hand full of grated cheese melted on top of it. I think I may try to make this one, minus the habanero sauce.

It always makes me laugh when a dog has a "real" person name. I suspected there was a story.

My sister had a dog named "Andrew." I gave her lots of crap about that one. How about Butch, Buster, Cooter, Tank, Laddie, Spot, Lucky, Spike? Not friggin Andrew, Bill, George, Tommy, etc.

Wacoso has some poodles he likes to cuddle up with. Maybe he can find you a nice doggie.

BTW, my males are named King and Cubby and the girls are Serena, Dixie, Maybe, May and Debra.

Dude!

I'm hurt. A corgi is a cowdog. They are herding dogs. Who wants a big dog anyway, they're like kids who never grow up.

My dog's name is Sasha... she wasn't named after anyone. Although it cracks me up when I am at a store and some woman is calling for her daughter. :)

My mom typically named her dogs after disney characters... Tinkerbell, Mickey, Pluto, Tigger... until they got a chihuahua, which they named Taco Belle. She did get a second chihuahua and named her Snowy (after Snow White, I believe). Maybe she's back on the Disney kick.
