Hmmmm..do you think that would work...

Don't you have to actually study weather to be a Meteorologist?
I figured that he already had the title of Chaplain without a Theology Degree so adding Meteorologist without a degree is not anything worse.
So, per the recommendation of multiple Wolverines, I added "Meteorologist" to Want's title. It now reads "Chaplain/Meteorologist". I expect him to pray for good weather.

I know I did this awhile back, but it's just so good, thought I'd do it on a Friday Night, in Hurricane weather.
From Columbia SC, Hootie by himself.
It's really good.
I left out in a cloud of taillights and dust
Swore I wasn't coming back, said I'd had enough
Saw you in the rear view standing, fading from my life
But I wasn't turnin' 'round
No not this time
But don't think I don't think about it
Don't think I don't have regrets
Don't think it don't get to me
Between the work and the hurt and the whiskey
Don't think I don't wonder 'bout
Could've been, should've been all worked out
I know what I felt, and I know what I said
But don't think I don't think about it
When we make choices, we gotta live with them
Heard you found a real good man and you married him
I wonder if sometimes I cross your mind
Where would we be today
If I never drove that car away?
Don't think I don't think about it
Don't think I don't have regrets
Don't think it don't get to me
Between the work and the hurt and the whiskey
Don't think I don't wonder 'bout
Could've been, should've been all worked out
Yeah I know what I felt, and I know what I said
But don't think I don't think about it
Don't think I don't think about it
Don't think I don't think about it
Don't think I don't have regrets
Don't think you don't get to me

Don't think I don't wonder 'bout
Could've been, should've been all worked out
I know what I felt, and I know what I said
But don't think I don't think about it, no no
Don't think I don't
Don't think I don't

Ok, the Kenny Chesney Corona commercial. Does it make any sense that a pair of foot prints are in the sand, then the cowboy boots, then the no talent clown, imo, singing in his blue chair. How do you get foot prints up to a pair of boots that were just taken off. You get boot prints, then foot prints, then the no talent clown in his chair.

Happy Saturday to you all.
In fact, I'm going to say good night/good morning, y'all.
It would be nice to have a "spoiler" tag where anyone could click on "Spoiler" button. Below are really the spoilers just in case a very few of y'all do watch either Monk or Psych on USA Network or Stargate Atlantis. Apologies in advance just in case.
The Monk and Psych episodes were good tonight, and Stargate Atlantis' "Whisper" episode was really on your seat eppy. There were several funny moments on the Monk show a few hours ago in which Adrian announced that he would be quitting since he had reached an even number- 100 cases. Natalie wouldn't have none of that, and she rolled up a newspaper when she was about to hit Monk on the head. She suddenly had a thought, and she then unrolled the newspaper and announced that Adrian really solved his 101st case. At the beginning of the show, I immediately pegged a person who would later be arrested for a crime. Ironically, this person was doing a segment on Adrian Monk by following him around on his 100th case, and everyone was invited to this TV host's house to celebrate Monk's successful 100th case.
Psych had this episode in which Shawn and Gus were investigating a bulgary ring, and they were checking out this roller derby game. That was a long time since I've seen a roller derby game although it was part of this episode tonight. They had Maggie Lawson going undercover as roller derby skater, and she relished in elbowing some women during the game. Later, her boss was very concerned about her doing the elbowing thing.
In the Stargate Atlantis show, there was one funny moment where Dr. Beckett and Dr. Alison Porter were left alone in the "basement" room, and the other lady was exiting the room to check out the perimeter. She told both of them that they may want to put a sock on the door handle.
Well, y'all have a great Saturday.

Congrats on 50, Gol.
Pooky and I were up from 2-4 this am. It seems one of the consequences of starting solid food is to get it all together on the digestive front. Poor kid, she just kept squirming around. All is well now, though, and she's a happy little kid. We're going to a class on natural pet health today. Woohoo.

When I was a child I bet I got stung by jellyfish no fewer than 10 times. They are everywhere in the Med.
Meteorologists are the only people I know who can be wrong more than they're right and still keep their jobs. If I was wrong, someone could lose their life.
They have the easiest job on earth. There is ALWAYS a 50% chance of something happening. Can you imagine the guy doing the weather in NV? "There is a 100% chance of bright and sunny, now off to collect my paycheck for reminding you that you live in a desert".
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Morning all!
Yes, it surely is!!
Baby nein is off to the Dr for acid reflux (no, I am not joking) and yes they do make baby Zantac...hopefully it is something else, he has been awfully crabby for the last week. He is also getting his first top tooth. In other news, 18 month clothes are too short, which is sad since he is 11mo.

First drunk post for FIJIFan!
Thank you to everyone that wished me well on my interview today! It lasted for 2 hours, and at the end the Director of Payroll told me that she feels "there is a definite opportunity for your background and experience within this company."
FIJIFan could have a new job in 2-4 weeks, as long as the $$$$$$ is right!
Again, I really appreciate all the well wishes from all of you today! Keep your fingers crossed!

And I know how to spell... I don't believe in switching from "y" to "i" if "y" is perfectly fine. :)
Maybe we should add "the initiator" to my title too!!

At the risk of stealing Missile's schtick, this is one of my favorite jokes ever:
The plumber came and was a little later then expected. The lady of the house had stepped out to get something at the corner store, and no one else was home except the family parrot.
The plumber walks up to the door and knocks. The parrot instinctively mimics the lady of the house and calls out: "Who is it?"
The plumber replies: its the plumber, I have come to fix the sink"
After a few minutes pass, he knocks again, and once again hears "Who is it?" from inside. The plumber again replies: its the plumber, I have come to fix the sink". Again, a few minutes later, he pounds on the door frustrated that no one is answering, and hears once more: "Who is it?"
Red faced and frustrated he squeaks out "its.....the.....plumber....I've...come...to ...fix...the sink." But falls over with a heart attack.
A few minutes later, the lady of the house arrives and says: "oh my, who is this?"
And the parrot calls out: "Its the plumber, he's come to fix the sink".

This reminds me of the parrot my grandfather had. My cousins tell of the story of when they went to visit him. They rang the bell and the parrot, sounding like my grandfather, said "Come in." My cousins said, "We can't, Grandpa, the door is locked." After a couple of minutes, they rang again and got the same response. After about five or six times, the parrot said, "********, I said get in here!"
No ****.

This one may qualify to be in the R&P; however, I was at Schmaltz's this afternoon where there was a long line leading to the cashiers' registers. There was a young woman wearing a maroon shirt, and in front of her shirt saying, "Beat the Hell Out of Obama" On the back of the shirt saying, "Gig Em McCain."
Granted, this may not mean anything, but I thought it was just an interesting FYI about that shirt.
Anyway, it was my first time setting foot in Schmaltz's in about 3 years, and it was great seeing a lot of people out there as usual.

The Pooky had a rough time getting to sleep. Screaming. I mean absolute screaming. Not fun. After seeing what she unleashed on her potty this morning, I can only imagine it was tummy related.
Either that or she hates the sweet sounds of John Morris. This was her first time to ever hear his voice. I should imagine she didn't quite know what to (dipsy) do.
We are working on some of her sleeping habits for the next several weeks. I have dubbed this "Sleepy September." Please put the Pooky on your prayer list.

We now turn our attention to Ike. According to the Titan HD projected path, it will be in the gulf. The cone of uncertainty is from the mid-Texas gulf coast all the way to the Louisiana/Mississippi border. The center of the cone is near High Island. This would be very bad for residents (including fellow 'Vine family members) and for oil and gas.

Not Giga, but I watched much of the race as I switched between football. I love NASCAR. JJ is a machine at the end of the year and I fully expect him to defend his title with all he has. It's going to be a good Chase.
The Chase field is Jimmie Johnson, Stewart, Busch, Edwards, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton and Bowyer.
I like Johnson, Stewart and Busch with Gordon having a shot based on experience.

Momma Golfer flew out of DFW to Philadelphia yesterday. She was on the tarmac for more than 3 hours before being cleared to take off. She could have already been in Philly by that time.
That is one of the many reasons that, now that I'm not forced to fly because of time restraints, I don't fly. I now travel at my leisure. I can stop and sightsee when I want to stop. I can buy a drink when I want to drink. I can eat when I want to eat. I can make as many cell phone calls that I choose to without anyone's permission. And I'm not on any one else's timetable.

Honestly, I could understand why that happened. Hanna arrived here yesterday, and the rain/visibility was pretty bad, even on the roads. When we came back up here after our quick TX trip this summer, I was actually amazed we were able to land. There were several planes just sitting on the runway. Our luggage got delayed in being delivered to baggage claim because of a lightning storm. And a good friend of mine was travelling back to Texas on the same day-- was supposed to leave at 6 or 8am, didn't leave until after 4pm because of multiple cancellations. We happened to be at the airport at the same time, and if I had known, I would have sought her out.
I did a lot of road tripping with my grandparents when I was little, and did a huge road trip in Texas in August-- we ended up covering over 1000 miles in about 5 days. I don't mind them at all, and we had discussed actually doing the road trip thing to get TO Texas this summer instead of flying, but we ended up flying instead. Gave us more time to spend with the fam. :)

Google just lied to you. The only way it should take that long is if you're trying to get over there after work on Friday when traffic is heaviest.
If I am going to drive 2 hours, I might as well head up to NYC, DC, or Gettysburg.
You can go to those places, too, and should. You do get more than one weekend a year off, don't you?

I was kinda of looking to get out of God's Country, but this job is in the same town as the last. I'm still researching the job, but I'll get back to everyone as soon as I figure out if there are any free samples involved. Perhaps bring this up in salary negotiations if it gets that far????

The Pooky had a rough time getting to sleep. Screaming. I mean absolute screaming. Not fun. After seeing what she unleashed on her potty this morning, I can only imagine it was tummy related.
Either that or she hates the sweet sounds of John Morris. This was her first time to ever hear his voice. I should imagine she didn't quite know what to (dipsy) do.
