Back to work. Nice weekend of hunting and fishing. We were literally right next to the border with Mexico. Had to drive through a gap in the border fence to get there. Pretty stupid to build a fence and leave giant gaps every 100 yards or so. You can see a picture of it on my wife's facebook page. Bad news is when we got home we didn't have any water. Guys this morning said it is probably the pump and will need to pull it, but couldn't in the rain. Grrrrr. Hope your are safe @ home. Looks like you are getting hammered. We've had 2 1/2 inches in Waco already. Stay dry.

I wish I was at home. Nasty storm. The wind is really strong. The rain isn't too bad right now in SA, but it looks like Boerne is getting hammered right now.

Wow, I have been missing someone posting on here...I have just recently checked this site and am amazed and impressed that BigBearFan keeps updating it with practically no response.

Why do you folks not post on the athletics forum? I would like to build that up and have tried to contact BigBearFan through private messages to offer my support in contacting folks about coming in here. He has not responded. Can anyone tell me why?

Don't know for sure, but I assume a lot of it is automated. A long while back they switched servers to a cheaper service and the site was down for a long while and most of the traffic died during that period. Some of us have tried to keep it up while a lot of just switched to communicating directly on facebook.

Ok, so I'd quit too! Evidently, this was a brand new police station in Mexico when drug dealers decided they didn't want the police around and put more than a 1000 rounds and 6 grenades into it. All of the police resigned the next day.

Hello all. Sorry I've been gone. Teh job keeps me busy and then I had gallbladder removal surgery so i have been down a bit. Doing much better now a week and 4 days after. very little pain after the surgery and seem to be back to almost normal.

atxtraveler, I would be glad to contact several Baylor fans (and perhaps they would contact some) about reviving this site but I am not sure that is what Mark Carroll wants. I have asked him by e-mail about doing this and he responded last night: "You would likely be better off building one from scratch."

This is a plumb puzzlement to me. Mark seems concerned about the financing but Chip thinks that would come with increased traffic. I certainly would contribute.

Got the tree yesterday. Went to Meridian to the tree farm, this is the second year we've gone. Sip Cider, buy stuff, then load it and come home. Will spend the day today decorating the tree and house. Not sure we'll go total Redneck, but, I'll report later on that. :)

Hey all especially HR who will be happy that this wayward GGR member has been away from GGR toooooooooooooo long. I cba (can not be ****d) to catch up on the Wolverine thread. Why? I have been with the Scots too long to pick up on their Scottish slang/lingo as I am on RangersMedia forum (Glasgow Rangers football).

Anyway, I'm soooo stoked that Baylor will play in Texas Bowl on 12/29/10 at the Reliant Stadium. Needless to say, y'all know we will play Illinois. It may be tomorrow or Tuesday that I will purchase the tixs through Baylor University.

Any of y'all planning on going to the game? I will stay with my mom since she lives in Bacliff.

HR, I will try my best to check in on GGR now and then. It's a bit quiet on RangersMedia (RM) as I am mostly in the Random Chat thread which has about 1,050 pages. LOL

Wasn't the Dentist, it was the Dr. pulled a muscle in my back a few weeks ago, then the last three days I had back spasms...I couldn't handle it anymore and broke down and got it checked. One shot and pain pills later, doing good. But thanks for asking.

I paid $195 for 3 tickets since they were $65 each, and I did that through Baylor University website Monday morning.

I have the confirmation printed out and should get them in the mail.

I contacted 28 friends and asked them to help us get this site active again. If they had not registered previously, they found they could not do so now. I contacted Mark Carroll about it and he is unwilling to do anything about it. Definitely a plumb puzzlement and I definitely will no longer be a part of such nonsense. Bye.

I will be at the bowl game for sure. Hopefully I will see some of you there. I am sure there will be plenty of tailgates in teh parking lot before hand. We are doing a small one but I know there is a huge one going on sponsored by a waco company.

That is sad to hear that the owner does not want anything to do with the site. I wish someone could take it over from him. I have tried BaylorFans a few times but that site is so full of adds, hate and trolls that none of the categories are really fun to talk about.

Hi Everyone,. Good to be home, driving through Tennessee and Maryland was hair raising. Not fun driving in blizzard conditions. Trucks jack knifing and sliding everywhere. But It was worth it. Just had dinner with my son the Guardian. I am so proud.

Chip, he says he is a seaman right now, does the lines and deck. In four months he is going to apply for Marine Enforcement School. But he says there is like a two year wait. He wants to get into the law enforcement aspect of the job.

Sic 'Em Bears!!! I would have gone to Houston today, but there was a battery warning light on which got me being out all afternoon finding a place that would have a specific battery for my 07 Ford Focus. I ended up with Bird Kultgen Ford and learned that my car needs a new alternator after doing the charging diagnosis. As a result, I am driving a KIA Rio for the next three days. It's a good thing I didn't go to Houston; otherwise, I would be stuck on the highway.

Will leave around 7 am and will get to my mom's house first.

I have the tickets, the Baylor Bowl Towels and the green shirt, so I'm all ready.

Will post pics on FB.

Got home yesterday around 2:30 pm. Posted pics of the game and of the beach house I stayed in on Facebook.

Like what TG said, I was unable to see most of y'all at the game. Although the Bears lost, I still enjoyed my time at the Reliant Stadium because it was my first time being there. My mom, a Longhorn, told me that she enjoyed listening to BUGWB's lively music because we were sitting close to them.

The rain put a damper on getting to see folks, but it was a great experience. Most Baylor fans I've ever seen in one place. Too bad we had so many penalties and turnovers that cost us so dearly.

I'm for the Aggies tonight because my dad and my sister are the former students of A&M. Yeah, SEC is always talked about these days. :rolleyes:

TG picked it right. My wife was SHOCKED to hear me pulling for the agglets. That rarely happens, but they deserved some support against LSU. Got the boards down in my shed's attic this weekend. Working on some shelves now. Nice to be back and work and not moving lumber around. :)

LOL I didn't want to have HappyRebel feel left out if she isn't aware of the group on Facebook. So far, it has been atxtraveler, BexarFan, DonnieD, myself and a few others posting there. There was a guy who had been communicating with atx and then blasted him for adding him on that group. I simply told him to go to the right and click on "Leave Group."
